2005-03-29 13:16:00 | Howdy I've been using ZA 5.5 (currently 5.5.062.011) for quite a while and HAD quite a list in program control of what could and couldn't access the internet, as well as allowing the other computer in the house to access this computer. When I went to connect to the internet this evening ZA asked if Firefox was allowed, which was odd as I had previously allowed permanent access, so I checked ZA and to my surprise, all programs had been removed from the programs tab, as well as the networked computer in firewall tab. The status tab still listed ~30000 blocked access attempts. I certainly did not remove these programs from the list and no one else has been near my computer. I ran AVG7, adaware, spybot, CWshredder and spysubtract but found nothing. Anyone else had similar strange occurances? Any ideas what might have happened? Cheers Ravage

2005-03-30 00:56:00 | I had the same thing happen to me a few months back not sure what caused it but it eventually sorted itself out. | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |

2005-03-30 10:46:00 | I have not had that problem but have found ZA screws up now and again and stops a program previously allowed. | mikebartnz (21) | |
2005-03-30 11:20:00 | good to see I'm not the only one who has had problems. Everything seems to be fine now, and I suppose it is good to have a nice fresh list to play with now :) Ravage

2005-03-30 12:53:00 | That often happens with a program update. During the update ZA asks if you want to use your old settings, but recommends a clean install. That tends to wipe your programs access list if you do a clean install. Any chance that is what caused it out of curiosity?

2005-03-30 14:27:00 | No I don't think that was it. It was fine after the upgrade (whenever that was) and I have never done a clean install for that very reason (ie din't want to have to reallow and reblock access for everthing) thanks anyway Ravage :@@:

2005-03-31 05:50:00 | It is sometimes good to start fresh. If a program asks for access deny it unless you are sure it is fine. If in doubt deny.

2005-03-31 06:43:00 | Always do I think I had about 14 items cleared for access (eg firefox, thunderbird, AVG etc), a large number permanantly blocked even though I knew what most of them were (eg WMP) and the rest had to ask me for access. Cheers Ravage :D
