339669 2005-03-30 11:05:00 Hi

Recently I was looking around (dreaming really) at some of the cases you can get for your untrusty lil puter.

Now, Im one of these people who would (eventually) like a case with a see thru side.

During my internet looking, I came across some cases (namely Xion) that were made from acrylic. There weight was listed as 10kg (I think). My questions are:
are these cases fully acrylic (or do they have a metal frame);
and if they are fully acrylic how do they stack up against there metal counterparts?

poss problems.....the case won't act as a heatsink for the drives etc and no inteference suppresson.

339671 2005-03-30 11:19:00 sometimes a fully clear acrylic case can look ugly....

its similar to models...its best when there clothes are on, leaving the work to the imganiation. bearing all sometimes doesnt do it.

thats my worthless opinion....

339672 2005-03-30 11:49:00 Do your very own acrylic case (www.bit-tech.net) and, for the ultimate in HDD chic, pop a window in your hard drive (www.bit-tech.net). Cool huh! Murray P (44)
339673 2005-03-30 12:45:00 they look fine especially with a few well placed leds but after two weeks you begin to notice the dust build up and from then on its downhill all the way. the highlander (245)

339677 2005-03-31 03:30:00 A few weeks ago I brought this case
www.dse.co.nz

It comes with a clear panel and the standard metal one :)

Last night I noticed a dead mosquito :horrified illuminated by a tri-colour led fan. It must have been sucked through the intake fan at the front.

After looking at countless cases, I will pass on the acrylic case.
There is only one I want .... anyone got a spare Thermaltake Tsunami (pref black) lying around? :p
