2005-03-30 22:09:00 | Hi Tony Just to clarify this, your page up and page down keys actually causes Outlook Express to scroll line by line up/down the page instead of jumping one page size down at a time? What does the Home and End keys do? They should jump to the start and end of each page - does this still work ok? What happens if you use these keys in Internet Explorer?

2005-03-30 22:19:00 | Hi Tony, Go to Internet Explorer's Tools > Options > Advanced > Browsing and remove the tick from "Use smooth scrolling". Hopefully that will do the trick.

2005-03-30 22:57:00 | Has OE always scrolled or did it recently start happening? I remember I had a similar problem in some program not that long ago but can't remember which or how I fixed it. I think I reformatted... :p :D You have already been into your mouse properties in Control Panel, I take it? Have you got TweakUI installed? That has options for fiddling with scrolling, etc. As a last resort you could reinstall your graphics drivers as I see elsewhere that has solved other mouse problems though I don't know if it would work for you.

2005-03-30 23:02:00 | Hello Jen. Only just noticed your message.OE Home/End keys jump properly. It is Page Up/down that slowly scroll. In IE, page up/down jumps. This is what I did in the dreaded Registry :- Registry Settings User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{Unique Identity}\Software\Microsoft\ Outlook Express\5.0\Trident\Main] Value Name: SmoothScroll Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value) Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled) Set it to 0 disabled. All very odd ... TonyF

2005-03-30 23:29:00 | I think the real question is why your page up/down keys on the keyboard have suddenly decided to take on a smooth scrolling function in OE only? You haven't enabled any quick/function keys to your keyboard software (assuming you are using drivers that were supplied by your keyboard manufacturer rather than default MS drivers)? Weird. | Jen (38) | |
