| 340206 | 2005-04-01 07:42:00 | Hi guys. I'm in need of help finding a deacent remote computing program. I need to stay off the main computer all evening, as there's a party going on in the lounge for all the teachers at my brothers school. During this time, the computer will be on and locked so noone tampers with it, however I need at least some form of games to run. So, I'm looking to install a virtual computing program on both the main computer and the one on my room, run the games on the main computer and play them from another location. Of course, how can I do this? The host computer is a windows XP home machine (1.2 celly, 384mb RAM, 100mb intel integrated network) and the one in my room is a windows 98se one (233mhz AMd K-6, 96mb RAM, 100mb DSE PCI card), connected via crossovercable to the main one at 100mb/s. I've used alcohol to stream CD images across (IE mount the image from a network drive), so I'm assuming that it'll be fast enough, but will the program be able to provide video and sound? Also, what program can I actually use for it? I don't really want to try RealVNC, it never worked before but if it's worth a try I will give it another go. Any help appreciated Thanks Edward :) |
