340320 2005-04-04 03:14:00 Hmmm...mini-din 10 pin connector?

I'll put money on it being 9-pin,The cable required is listed as 9 Pin S-Video to HDTV (YPrPb) Cable.

340321 2005-04-04 03:20:00 If you look at Desmonds Image of the back of his card at overclockers. Thats a 10 pin connector, 9 pin connectors r common on the ATI cards. smokenz (7599)
340322 2005-04-04 03:31:00 Doh!.

I got the cable specs from an ATI card, Caught out again.

That aside, I have 3 6600gt boxes here, all of em have a sticker on the end listing HDTV.....but I saw no such cable,so presumibly this only refers to the capabilites of the output...

Has scam written all over it......

Sparkle.

Surprise surprise.

Though the Leadtek Geforce A6600GT HDTV AGP 8x 128MB DDR3 VGA Card, HDTV-Out, DVI have just become available through one of my suppliers at a good price so I will be using these over the Sparkles in the future.

Anyhow, I have a direct line to the Sparkle supplier so I have sent off an email asking them to supply the HDTV cables, should be interesting...

Have also mailed the company who supply the Leadtek version and have asked if they are supplied with the relevant cables.

340326 2005-04-04 04:13:00 All good man, haha, I thought you may be meaing ATI cables . Hey can you supply those VGA-Component cables? If so, how much?

I have tried VGA-Svideo cables with no luck on my laptop, I have a feeling the cables are specific to vga ports on AGP cards and seeing I have a Radeon AGP laptop, that would be different .

I wonder if the component cables would work .

Will also be interesting to hear what sparkle says, as from what happened to Desmond they are ripping off NZ . I'm sure a while ago I saw a review in Asia that had that card, and some funny HDTV component adapter that plugged into the 10 pin connector .

340327 2005-04-04 04:54:00 The major difficulty with making up cables is getting the appropriate cable. Video cables need to be low loss at the high frequencies. The manufacturers can get the special cable with 3 or more coaxes in one outer and often with some twisted pairs as well). Getting the connectors is usually less of a problem. The problems start with soldering cables which are usually bigger than the inter-pin spacing.:(

It's usually worth making the effort to get the exact commercial cable.
