339867	2005-04-01 12:46:00	Another great thing about the DSE routers mentioned in this thread is that Dick Smith have an excellent and free telephone support service, if you run into trouble with configuration etc. I've found their staff really helpful. If you get a DSE router, make sure you get a magnifying glass - the manuals that come with it use about the smallest text I've yet seen :) Good luck with your choosing. John	braindead (1685)
339868	2005-04-01 13:17:00	Don't go by pricespy. A friend of mine bought a modem going by pricespy and I checked the price on Ascent Techs site and it was $30 cheaper from them. It sounds as if all merchants don't list with pricespy. Trevor:) Pricespy scans only 20 - 30 web pages per site so some sites may not get into all categories.	PaulD (232)
339869	2005-04-01 20:43:00	Thanks again, everyone. I ended up buying a Dynalink RTA770. It was a toss-up between that and a DSE one. I decided on the Dynalink because of good experiences in the past and I find with DSE stuff that it is usually technically OK but the documentation is often pretty poor, and I'm one of those rare birds who read the manual before I install the product. :) All installed, and after a few setup hiccups, I'm now enjoying super-fast browsing. I bought from QMB computers at Royal Oak, at a good price, but be warned they do the old "one price for cash/EFTPOS, and another price for credit card". In breach of their merchant agreement of course. I might just dob them in... This thread has been another confirmation of how good Press F1 is! :thumbs:	Tony (4941)
339870	2005-04-01 20:50:00	Don't go by pricespy. They acknowledge they're not perfect, but very useful as a rule of thumb, and on at least one occasion has helped me negotiate a better price from my local dealer.	Greg (193)
