| 340280 | 2005-04-01 10:47:00 | Hello I have been very frustrated with this I am almost going to give up if I cant get this to work. When I try to start windows xp a blue screen comes up and says unmountable_boot_volume I have not installed any new software or hardware. This is not a new os or new computer. I cannot get into safemode or anything. I have tried to run chkdsk and it was failing at 50%. I have tried fixboot and fixmbr with no sucess. I have been searching on the internet for the remedy but I cant find the fix everyone else seemed to get it fixed but it is being stuborn which usually happends to only me. I have spnent roughly 4 hrs today and I am about to take a sledge hammer to it. Please help me any input is greatly apperciated. | ajonline (7761) | ||

| 340283 | 2005-04-01 20:30:00 | Are you using a 40 wire or 80 wire IDE cable for your hard drive? | somebody (208) | ||
| 340284 | 2005-04-01 21:44:00 | I finally got the darn thing to work I had to run chkdsk about 10-11 times and it finally got to 100% so if anyone has that problem you need to run chkdsk as many times until it completes to 100%. | ajonline (7761) | ||
