339842 2005-03-31 04:37:00 Just read the latest issue of PCW mag and in particular page 47, the "Graphics Card Showdown" article . In the article there is a section on AGP vs PCI-Express .

Through the article there is reference to PCI-X, supposedly referring to the PCI-Express standard .

Now I am not argueing with the author, however to my knowledge, PCI-X was an upgraded version of the PCI bus standard which was supposed to have run speeds of 133, 266 & 533MHz .

So what am I saying is the article is incorrectly using the abbreviation PCI-X for PCI-Express when it should actually be PCI-E .

Please correct me if I am wrong in this regard .

Read more about the PCI-X bus standard here ( . interfacebus . com/Design_Connector_PCI_X . html" target="_blank">www . interfacebus . com)

Whatever did happen to the advent of the PCI-X bus standard?
Your comments appreciated?

cheers

339845 2005-03-31 05:01:00 Chiefnz - You are correct.

PCIe is the correct abbreviation for PCI-Express as our Servers have PCI-X slots
