340576 2005-04-03 02:43:00 I feel Mr Buckman is being unfriendly in his comment, which I took as being unreasonably sarcastic.
However I am interested in getting hold of CDroms on those countries, which I consider to be a perfectly legitimate aim.
If anyone can give me the names of some computer chat type sites, that may be able to help me, I would be grateful. :stare:

But its funny! What no sense of humour either?

Anyway I have no idea where you can go - why not try Google?

Actually Press F1 type sites is not really the right thing - you really should be trying newsgroups.

340579 2005-04-03 03:01:00 sssss: Bruce made a little joke in the form of a question. If you take it as being sarcastic or unfriendly, you might be seriously at risk of taking things too seriously. ;)

Your original posting was really a bit misplaced here and unneccesary, although you should still feel welcome.

Try using "computer forum" as a search string to Google (http://www.google.co.nz/). That will give some sites immediately. Try adding various other keywords such as the sort of topic you are interested in. You could try the "site:<country>" modifier using the 2-letter country abbreviations for "<country>" (e.g. uk for Britain, za for South Africa).

340580 2005-04-03 03:11:00 I was a bit touchy about Bruce's comments, because I was just banned for a week by moderator Jen on World Forum, when my posting was well-intentioned, apparently violating PressF1's rule though, which I hadn't thought about.
I feel that Bruce Buckman was rubbing this in, which is why I called his comment unfriendly.

340581 2005-04-03 03:26:00 It's a good policy to be a bit more relaxed about anything you read . You were sensitive and took it as unfriendly; the rest of us saw it as a mild joke .

If someone becomes unfriendly and abusive to you, you will notice it, but even then it's usually best to "treat it with ignore"; others see it for what it is . Their opinion of the detractor is lowered, not of the victim .
