341540 2005-04-04 11:26:00 The M/S media pro keyboard has decided to pack up
When I go to the volume button say,it comes up with a message, you have a fault, remove from computer and reinstall.
I have done that, but the fault persists, what could the matter be folks
Thanks for you input(hopefully).

341541 2005-04-04 12:50:00 Might add,thought I would turn on sound via CP,oh dear,says no audio device.
The plot thickens.

341542 2005-04-04 21:18:00 I have this vision of everybody sitting there scratching heads over this very difficult question, though interesting. Cicero (40)
341543 2005-04-04 21:39:00 Reinstall the audio drivers for the motherboard. godfather (25)
341544 2005-04-04 22:42:00 Or see if the soundcard is selected under control panel / Sounds/Audio tab.

(If you're using XP).

It might be set to something else as the default device. If your soundcard doesnt appear here.

I would check device manager , and see if anything shows beside the soundcard entry (like an X or ! or other).

341545 2005-04-05 10:26:00 Thanks G_F.The disc that came with computer says Mainboard Utility, ran Realtek audio drive from that, now have partial sound,I cant use the volume control.it is set at loud and cant alter. It still says no audio device.

Speedy,I think sound is via the motherboard.I don't have a seperate sound card.

341546 2005-04-05 10:33:00 Is your keyboard wireless? i.e. dependent on batteries?
Weird things can sometimes happen to wireless k/boards when the battery goes flat

No,can't blame that.

341548 2005-04-05 12:35:00 Could it be a fault with motherboard, when checking hardware,it says cannot play sounds, check with vendor? Cicero (40)
341549 2005-04-06 20:57:00 Still puzzled by this.
If I play sound it will only go flat out,I have have no control via volume control, the only way to shut off sound is to close app.?
