341335 2005-04-04 04:31:00 Is it safe to write directly on a disk with a marker pen?
Is it okay to use a standard felt pen or is there something better?

341341 2005-04-04 09:15:00 The data on a CD or DVD is held just under the "label" layer, so the only limitation is that the pen should not react with the label surface or scratch the surface, or the disk will be toast.

Anything that complies with that should be fine. The problem exists that not all CDs have the same label side coating properties.
