341115 2005-04-03 06:57:00 Is there anyone who could recommend a simple chat software package that I could use while playing multi player games over a LAN. I have tried Voicer - which locks up - and X-Lite-Xten which attempts to log onto the internet before starting up. Fred_12 (7790)
341116 2005-04-03 07:17:00 would Roger Wilco work? Prescott (11)
341117 2005-04-03 07:28:00 Yep RW or Ventrillo works well, or TeamSpeak but thats slightly more complicated to set up. E|im (87)

341122 2005-04-03 08:34:00 sorry i didn't read the question correctly. skype does not cost plod (107)
341123 2005-04-03 13:36:00 Skype is free for internet telephony, but is _not_ suited for this purpose due to an internet connection being required for transfers.

SkypeOut makes calls to land-lines, and does cost.

341124 2005-04-06 08:52:00 Thanks Guys
I downloaded Roger Wilco and apart from the GameSpy Registration Splash screen freezing my system (I ended up unzipping it using Winzip, bypassing the reg screen), it works a treat with the middle mouse button as the push to talk button.
