| 342137 | 2005-04-06 07:33:00 | Sometimes a website offers an e-mail address for one to contact them. When I click on this up comes a small panel saying " opening up e-mail in word." Then up comes the e-mail form in word with the address already there. Problem is that when I type out the e-mail and click on "send" nothing happens and the e-mail does not get sent. Software is windows XP, Microsoft Word and Thunderbird e-mail programme. Any help please. | heaton (3697) | ||

| 342140 | 2005-04-06 21:52:00 | What web browser are you using? Clicking on an email link on a webpage should bring up Thunderbird, not Word. If you are using Internet Explorer go to Tools > Options > Programs > Email and select Thunderbird. |

If you are using Internet Explorer go to Tools > Options > Programs > Email and select Thunderbird . The web page is XTRA's help page and when you click on the e-mail address they give you it automatically brings up MS Word with this e-mail address already typed . So away I go and type my problem and when done I click on SEND which appears at the top left hand side of the e-mail page in word and then nothing happens . |

| 342142 | 2005-04-07 05:14:00 | I am not sure why you cannot send your emails from Word but it has nothing to do with Xtra's webpage. It will do the same on any webpage due to your settings. When I click on the email address my email program (Eudora) opens. It would be preferable for Thunderbird to open when you click email links on webpages so you need to change your settings, either in your web browser, in Thunderbird or in your default program settings. |
