341594 2005-04-04 18:57:00 I have a Raedon 9800 pro video card.
I have plugged a spare power plug into the back of the card.
I have just been reading the manufacturers instructions. (i Know I should have read them first!)

They say remove the power cable to the hard drive, put in the supplied two way adapter and then replug power cable to hard drive. Plug supplied cable into the other outlet on hard drive and then into video card.

Is this going to to produce any difference to video card?

Just seems a lot of extra work for same result. BUT why should they say HDD if any powere connection will do?

341595 2005-04-04 20:56:00 They might assume, that u have no spare power connections, on the power supply.

I would just put a spare power connection from the p/s, on the card, if thats what it says.

I dont think it would make any diff, since its still coming from the power supply.

341596 2005-04-04 22:35:00 Yeah it shouldn't make any difference, I have the same 2 way adapter for my X800XT but I don't use it at all. I just plugged a spare HDD power plug from my PSU straight into the card. Everything works fine and no problems at all.

cheers
