| 342052 | 2005-04-08 05:56:00 | An "optical" mouse doesn't use IR. Graham, do all cordless meeces use radio for communication now? I know the very first wire-less mouse I had used infra-red - and it wasn't very effective. | Tony (4941) | ||
| 342053 | 2005-04-09 03:48:00 | Sorry, Tony, I was thinking only about the internals of the beasts. ;) Some tail-less ones might have used an IR link, but I'd expect the results to be poor. I came across some documentation on irDA last night and it looks as if it's never been a good idea with problems in the real world. I've had occasional successes with links between palm computers (but not Win Ce 1) and a laptop. I bought an LJ6 with the IR link, and a Psion5 printed to it. ;). But mice are used in obstructed surroundings (You can't see my desk. ;) | Graham L (2) | ||
