342021 2005-04-06 00:33:00 I would NEVER spend $50-100 on a MOUSE.......that's FAR too much.......hell I buy my A4Tech mouseies for just $13, (not from dicksmiths tho..) drcspy (146)
342022 2005-04-06 00:38:00 I paid over $125 for my current mouse...

Anyhow.

Wireless,optical,ball,....whatever, they all die by the hammer long before the cord breaks.....

Except the one I paid $125 for, When that dies it will be stuffed and mounted over the mantle.....

342023 2005-04-06 00:46:00 The optical mouse is far superior to the analogue one but don't buy a MS one.
I'm on my 4th MS optical mouse in as many years. The first one lasted 2 weeks wire broke where cable enters mouse. 2nd one same problem but lasted 18 months. 3rd stopped letting you scroll wed pages with wheel although wheel worked. On another MS optical mouse now which well be my last MS optical mouse. If you buy one get a Logitech one.

342025 2005-04-06 02:40:00 Surprised nobody mentioned the power savings of an optical. That little red glow in the dark tells me I've forgotten to switch off... again. steelsporran (6566)

Makes me wonder what you do to your mouse

I have Microsoft (yeah I know... weak moment) Optical Blue mouse and love it, its been around for at least a year, and I haven't had any problems with it

342027 2005-04-06 03:17:00 I'd go for optical over a mouse with balls any time. The neutered optical variety are more accurate, don't pick up fluff and grit on their balls, are not suceptible to mechnical wear and can see in the dark.I dont mind a bit of fluff on my balls, it's the grit I cant stand.

Go for optical

342028 2005-04-06 03:26:00 Of course Anne, you could just say to the boss: "The optical mouse will cost $X. I have spent that much of your time so far finding arguments to buy one. It'll be cheaper to just buy the thing to make me happy, and I'll get back to my work."

That and a big smile should do it. ;)

Spending a little more on something, often taken for granted, that eases the discomfort in my wrist at days end as compared to the cheapies that do not, is money well spent IMO. Spending over 4 times what I could have laid my hands on a rodent for didn't come naturally though, it took some persuasive discussion and searching of memory banks to reach the final decision.

I looked at the Logitechs Met's, I can understand how it happened. They were beautiful wee darlings and very tempting, but I chocked on the extra dosh. Will probably go that way next time.
