2005-04-07 06:40:00 | Please excuse my lameness....hehe...but how do I set these primary/secondary DNS servers? Are these set on the router? Or is it set in Windows somewhere? | Mcam (7363) | |
2005-04-07 06:42:00 | they are normally set on the router, normally under the dns section on the web interface. | ILikeLinux (1669) | |
2005-04-07 06:53:00 | A mate just brought round his WinXP Pro laptop.... It was HELL, no google worked unless we went through an http proxy. I put it through megaproxy first to find a free http proxy, and now google works fine for him. Strangely Google works fine for my on Gentoo? My family on Xandros can only get to Google.com.au though... Odd!?!

2005-04-07 07:01:00 | Never send emails to their help desk, or at least dont expect one back. Also try setting the default dns server as 203.109.252.43 or one of :yuck: xtra's :yuck: ones.

Open Network Connections. Right-click on your connection, Properties, Networking, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Properties, and there you can set the DNS addresses. |

2005-04-09 06:07:00 | After switching from Orcon back to Xtra in January I have to say that the connection, latency and reliability has been superb. No issues at all, I am very happy with Xtra. Orcon are STILL charging me though!!!! We had a flurry of emails over last few months and even one to apologise and they would back-date the account (up over $150.00 due now apparently) ... and then I get a nasty letter demanding payment or they will disconnect my UBS lol. What UBS?
