342147 2005-04-07 08:47:00 Hi heaton

I'm pretty sure the setting you want isn't in Word or Thunderbird, you need to go
(I have win2000 so yours may be a bit different)
start -> settings --> internet options --> and click on the Programs tab

Go down to the line that says email currently it should say Word, you should be able to change this to Thunderbird as it should be in the drop down box
accept everything and then try clicking on the links
Hope this helps

342148 2005-04-08 03:27:00 Thanks Nigel your suggestions have done the trick. Never knew you had to alter the settings in the browser programme. Using windows XP and the options are there. Anyway thanks again. heaton (3697)
342149 2005-04-08 05:24:00 Wow, that is what I suggested to do yesterday in my first reply:

If you are using Internet Explorer go to Tools > Options > Programs > Email and select Thunderbird.
My mistake was to direct you to the setting in Internet Explorer rather than through the Control Panel but you would have ended up in the same place and changing the same settings.
