I have to use it very often at work ... sigh.
I tried a similar app called "Astumi" sourceforge.net it does much the same thing - allows you to reset all passwords. I set all to * ( blank) but still XP persisted in asking for passwords..
Doing a reinstall atm

341825 2005-04-06 04:54:00 Gutted that you got locked out man. I have never trusted autoupdates, I always turn them off because lots of times I have seen smart clients have auto updates on after I turn them off and then they say that their PC won't boot. And it's usually because of the auto updates not completing properly.

I think mythix probably checked his PC more than once after January, because in Februay MS released 12mb of updates for XP which added to SP2.

I have never had a problem with SP2, and with wireless networks most of the new wifi cards actually need SP2 to perform securely as there is a better interface to set up your encryption settings.

I think like I said, if you just apply the SP2 update. And disable all security center BS you will have no problems, UNLESS your PC has **** on it. But as you said, u ran all the scans in the world. So you should be sweet.

Maybe also defrag the hdd and chkdsk /f the c: before just to make sure no bad blocks that could cause corruption.
