| 342759 | 2005-04-09 00:42:00 | Are you people sure you can not send a fax from your computer on an ADSL connection? My fax program is still on my comp. but I haven't tried to use it since I've been on ADSL. Also I 've sent several faxes while on dial up and have never been charged anything for them. This includes overseas faxes too. |

| 342763 | 2006-03-06 09:00:00 | I do know this post is a couple of years ago, but do you need to be online to send a fax, or does it just 'go'. I finally tried to send a fax today, and it locked up my puter, but I havent' given up yet, so was just wondering if I had to be online. TIA. | supergran (108) | ||
| 342764 | 2006-03-06 09:24:00 | When your PC sends a fax it uses your phone line just as you would to make a phone call, via the 56k modem in your PC. You don't need to have any type of internet connection at all to send a fax. If you connect on-line using a dial up connection then you would need to disconnect this connection before faxing (as you would if you wanted to use the phone normally). If you connect on-line with ADSL then you don't need to disconnect first, however you do need to have a dial up modem in your PC and have that connected to your phone line (through a splitter). Hope this helps a bit. |

| 342765 | 2006-03-07 08:30:00 | Thanks for that Jester, I know it was most likely a dumb question, and I should of known the answer, but I didnt . Thanks for explaining . As for the fax, it didn't send, so not sure what I did wrong . Oh well, back to the drawing board, in another year or so, I may have to ask another question, when I go back to trying to send another one . LOL |
