342610 2005-04-09 06:22:00 I've downloaded and installed MSN Messenger 7. First impression, IT IS WAY TOO COOL! Kudos to Microsoft! But MSN 7 takes a longer time to startup compare to MSN 6.2 and it gobbles up more memory than its predecessor. I've tried starting up 15 or so MSN Messenger 7 at the same time, and my 200 something free RAM drops down to 10 MB left. Cheers :) Renmoo (66)
342611 2005-04-09 06:42:00 I've turned off all special features (emoticons, sounds, and now shaking and flash animations). I've had emoticons and what not off since MSN 4, and it's been great :D Growly (6)
342612 2005-04-09 07:39:00 Err few things.

v7 Is gay.

I use 6.2 with msn plus which basically lets you

remove the adverts (gay ads :/)
remove the crap.
Better logging
Plugins like Handwriting ~

Basically all that v7 has...

The thing i hate most about 7 is just how bad it is all up. Don't really want to get into details. Had the beta months ago. B.A.D (Note this is doesn't stand for anything)

342613 2005-04-09 07:50:00 What adds are you guys talking about ? I have been using Msn Beta 7 since release and now the final release and have not experienced any adds. Overdrive_5000 (4950)
342614 2005-04-09 08:48:00 with the latest msn plus the guy removed the hide add feature. Prescott (11)
342615 2005-04-09 09:08:00 Are you kidding me....

What a homo. Good thing I don't use Msn 7.

However bro there's always patches for removing ads. so err msn plus isn't end of the story.

You use his software (msnplus) and you call him a homo. Thats funny, and if you used the beta months ago then what did you expect? Its beta!

342617 2005-04-09 12:22:00 but the screen shaking bugs the hell outa some people if your contacts are immature.Easily disabled in the prefs.

I think I will stay with MSN messenger 6.2 for now....He's back!? :groan:

Use this to get rid of the ads and mush round with a whole lot of fun settings. This modifies the original executable so probably breaches MS's EULA and is not for the faint of heart or weak of bowel.

342619 2005-04-09 17:27:00 I actually find the final msn7 runs kinda faster than the beta and msn 6 version.I'm running a 200mhz computer.
MSn 7 final is alot stable.I think what slowed my computer on msn was the advertisment.I've removed them now and did the same with icq pro and icq lite. With all that gohne.Loading those programs up became quite fast.
I wonder if anyone still uses icq??I still do..
