2014-08-31 10:21:00 | Does watching (streaming) webcams use much Internet bandwidth? EG Watching the webcam for Osaka or Narita Japanese International Airport webcams. www.ustream.tv %82%A4%E3%83%96%E3%82%AB%E3%83%A1%E3%83%A9

2014-08-31 11:11:00 | Most online 720p screens are around 1-2mbps. That's bits, not bytes, so you could quite easily go through a gig a little over an hour... | Chilling_Silence (9) | |

First some basic's -- Geek hat on :nerd: 1024 Bytes = 1 KiloByte 1024 KiloBytes = 1 MegaByte 1024 MegaBytes = 1 GigaByte Loaded up Networx a network monitor. Left the Computer running with nothing open.:sleep After 5 Minutes had used 174 Bytes Opened that web cam, waited for all the things to load, refreshed the counter. After 5 minutes had used 67.8 MB Shut down the site, back to original nothing running, reset the counter - 5 minutes 180 Bytes Opened the Cam again, reset counter, 5 minutes 66.9MB ( so its close enough to being accurate) Times the 5 minutes x 60 (1 Hour) = Its a sucking the usage a bit :) |

2014-09-01 08:24:00 | That above calculation doesn't quite read right (sorry about that, long day) It used 67.8 MegaByte in 5 minutes. So one way to work it out, divide 67.8 by 5 = 13.56 MegaByte / minute, times 60 minutes =813.6 MegaByte per hour. So as above its just under 1 GigaByte / Hour, which is basically the same as Chill advised. Side Issue -- Its amazing how much data is used when people watch videos from youtube, soon sucks through the data -- Here a certain son went through 5GB on Saturday ( has netwrox on his PC)

2014-09-01 21:53:00 | I have seen where online radio/music streaming used 65% of a companies internet data allowance. Stop the streaming radio & usuage went back down to normal levels Other companies have had 1 user streaming movies put the companies internet usage at the 80% warning level. Some of these streaming services use P2P, so if your PC gets used as a NODE by the streaming software, expect internet usage to skyrocket
