1369503 2014-03-05 08:06:00 Might get rid of Win7, or dual boot some version of Linux on it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1369504 2014-03-05 08:45:00 If you have time to play around Arch. Otherwise Mint. Cato (6936)
1369505 2014-03-05 08:49:00 K. I've got mint atm. Could get Arch. Ta Speedy Gonzales (78)

Advantage is that it is continuously updated and you do not have to do a complete reload of the next version as with the other distros including Mint etc.

1369507 2014-03-05 17:41:00 I quite like Puppy gary67 (56)
1369508 2014-03-05 19:57:00 I'd go with Mint. Have just popped Ubuntu on my new laptop, quickly remembered why I disliked it so much :-/ Chilling_Silence (9)

1369510 2014-03-05 20:29:00 Yup tried Mint Cinmammon. As a live cd yesterday. Looked pretty good. Picked up the wireless here OK. What about printers?? How exactly are you meant to install drivers?? Like Windows? Install the file then connect the printer? Or connect the printer first?? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1369511 2014-03-05 22:04:00 Drivers come bundled :)

If there's not an exact match, 99% of the time you can pick a similar model and it'll do 9/10 things you need anyway.
Just plug it in, give it a whirl, and if you get stuck it's what we're here for :D

1369512 2014-03-05 22:08:00 Cool, so the reverse to windows?? Plug it in the drivers if they're there somewhere, they'll load. Instead of installing the drivers first then plugging the printer in? I'll give it a whirl as soon as I install something Speedy Gonzales (78)
