| 1368878 | 2014-02-26 20:18:00 | Here's a weird thing... one moment this new Win 8.1 machine was a golden baby, next moment yesterday it just froze! Not even a power-off would work - it simply would not function. The screen stayed on but nothing would happen no matter what I tried. Cure... I unplugged it, removed the battery and let it sit overnight. Magically this morning it's working fine. Strange. I hope Ascent (http://www.ascent.co.nz/) live up to their reputation with regard to their warranty, but meanwhile thank goodness I haven't disposed of my older lappie yet. |

| 1368879 | 2014-02-26 20:23:00 | Could be one of several things. May be RAM failure, motherboard Failure, PSU problem. If its under warranty then shouldn't be a problem. Got a customers PC here at the moment, it freezes every so often, did all the normal tests and everything is fine. Trouble is it only does it when its cold. This morning it wouldn't boot so changed the Memory to different slots and it fired up right away, changed them back to originals -- Dead-- guess its a MB on the way out. This ones roughly 5 Years old though. |
