1368751 2014-02-25 21:18:00 I have no patience with people who complain about Cyber bullying. It is just spam and should be deleted. If you don't have a "Social Media Account" you will not be bothered. You can turn off your cell phone or block a number (text). Phone calls should not be a problem as they cost the caller money and they will soon find someone else more responsive. Like Spam, never respond, just delete it. As for celebrities, this is part of the territory, if they can't deal with it they should employ a secretary or become normal people.

+1 for the adult population . It is a bit more complex for those who are in the younger more vunerable age group though .

1368753 2014-02-25 22:04:00 Not naming anyone in recent events, but

to imply cyber-bullying a major issue contributing to hospitalization, suicide etc , when that person had ongoing mental health issues is a bit much.
Especially when a certain person was claimed to have done some 'cyber-bullying' themselves

If your profession is based on being famous & in the spotlight, its all part of the job. Is it really any different than being trashed in the local papers/reviews ?
Great idea to employ a secretary or Personal Assistant to deal with it & filter it out.

As for teenagers, bullying has allways been around, allways will be around . Only difference is now its online & could actually be ignored. In the past it would be all very much in your face . Its just part of growing up.
Life is tough.

1368754 2014-02-25 22:06:00 Agree with Clive, with kids the online tends to spill over to real life beause they all go to school together so ignoring it online doesn't necessarily make it go away.

Adults should be free to ignore it and not care though.

1368755 2014-02-25 22:12:00 Also agree with 1101 :) Unfortunate incidents involving People with underlying problems seems to often be blamed on the things that trigger them rather than the real problems they already have that makes them more susceptible.

To not mention another much less recent event there was a famous incident with an attempted suicide where two teens spent the night doing drugs and listening to music and the Band ended up in court over it.....

1368756 2014-02-25 22:21:00 C'mon, really. Parents need to do their part. I mean really, what kind of small minded individual gets "bullied" via today's media? Are they bottom dwelling creatures? Sheesh, God gave us brains for goodness sake! Greg (193)

They should be, but not everyone can. I don't know why some people make a big deal out of cyber bullying though, normal bullying has gone on for a long time before the internet came along.

1368758 2014-02-26 01:32:00 To make the bullying go away stay from social media sites its not rocket science. You cant be bullied if you no contact with a bully. prefect (6291)

.

1)She had a mental health issue to begin with
2)She forgot Rule 1: Don't Feed The Troll.

The idiots on the TV news the other day saying it's so impossible to ignore...no, I don't have Twitter, FB or any of the others so actually it's really easy. Nothing to go read.

Twitter is just a Look At Me thing anyway, they're all so up themselves.

1368760 2014-02-26 06:53:00 I only have a G+ account and its known to a very limited number of people. I'm not interested in the mass hysteria of farcebook where someone can comment on something somebody said to someone else's 3 times removed dogs cousin.

People really need to take ownership of their social media and not just give it out to anyone who vaguely doesn't look sinister
