| 1382685 | 2014-08-30 08:44:00 | If its a fresh install, and only one user account is created its automatically a limited admin account. While it is a admin account its not the "REAL" admin account, thats actually hidden. To show the "real" admin account, click start, type in cmd, right click it from the results / Run as administrator. Type in net user administrator /active:yes You should see a message - command completed successfully. Reboot the computer -- and Viola, the Admin account ;) To hide it again, do the same as before but this time type net user administrator /active:no As Speedy mentioned, your profile my be corrupted, logging in Via the admin account, removing the existing user, and create a new one. Edited: asked my son who plays on runscape sometimes about the auto clicker -- his reply -- That will get you banned and account deleted if caught. (polite version) Right. I did that cmd workaround and deleted/re-created a profile. Lost a bit of stuff, but solved the admin problem. :) Then I had a look at the task manager and while using the 'ban me' clicker I saw that it was clashing with a certain cwm.exe. Researched and found it's to do with the aero theme of W7 and apparently my video card - now - does not support aero... go figure. I did update the drivers and all to no avail. So I stopped the aero theme and voila' - all working again. Thank you all for your input, really appreciated. A bit of tongue-in-cheek here. I know it is cheating a little, but not as bad as having a big megaupload site that steals people's rights and makes you millions. And yet he's running a party in NZ now. So I told myself, if this is what NZ is becoming then I don't want to be left behind by being a tree hugger :) Cheers |

Also when you reinstalled this from fresh, did you put in the chipset and other motherboard Drivers ? Found one article that had similar problems and the cause was the intel HD (onboard Graphic) drivers were not installed even though a separate Graphic Card was being used. |

| 1382688 | 2014-08-30 23:01:00 | Easy way --Pop the side off the case - Have a look at the motherboard, on the board will be the model number of the board, go to the manufactures site, locate teh exact model, and download the drivers for the board. If you have the manual, or box the board came in look on that. You can also try the OS options - click start, type in System Information or msinfo select it, on the right will be the info under System Model / Manufacture ( some boards wont show the details) Another way - install CPU-Z (www.cpuid.com) Click on the mainboard Tab to show (download links are top right next to the purple square) Windows 7 will install drivers, but sometimes not all are installed or all features enabled. |
