1369513 2014-03-06 00:35:00 +1 for Mint - depending on how fast it runs Cinnamon I'd be tempted to throw the MATE version on there myself. Cinnamon is much nicer though.

And pretty much, printers are usually plug and play :)

1369515 2014-03-06 00:51:00 With my limited experience with Linux I've tried to connect and power on everything I can think of prior to installing so that it detects and loads drivers automatically on install. Seems easier than adding things later. Most common hardware does just seem to work on Linux these days though, it even seems quicker and easier to set up and install than windows much of the time. It's only when you try to use it that you might run into issues of an unfamiliar OS. dugimodo (138)

If they manage to ruin that, as they did with Ubuntu, I'll probably switch to Lubuntu.

Arch always tempts me but I don't really want to spend the time on it...
