1369159 2014-03-03 01:49:00 Hi guys
Ive got a S3 Express. Android 4.1.2
How do I make incoming ph calls have a 'normal' old school 'ring ring'
I dont want music, birds, trains, trumpets or crickets, I want something I'll recognise as a ph call, not a head scratcher "whats that funny noise coming from" :p

It doesnt seem to have 'normal' phone rings in the options, everything but . Are these new ph's just too fancy schamsy fangled for old school ring ring ?
Do I have to download the sound I want ?
Am I just too old for Android ?

1369160 2014-03-03 02:02:00 You should be able to set a different ring tone for each different caller in your contacts list here (www.wikihow.com) Webdevguy (17166)
1369161 2014-03-03 02:11:00 I found how to change the sound of the ring tone, I couldnt find a normal 'ring ring' .
I dont want the silly ringtone sounds , I want / need something that sounds like a loud & clear old
school phone.
I dont get many incoming calls on this ph, last time I heard a funny sound & didnt realise it was MY ph untill too late.
Cheers

1369162 2014-03-03 02:25:00 So if your phone doesn't have the old school ring tone listed you will probably need to download it from the Android/Google Play Store. Webdevguy (17166)

I promise that after a few calls it'll be instantly recognisable and become a lot less objectionable. Greg (193)
1369164 2014-03-03 08:57:00 You should be able to set a different ring tone for each different caller in your contacts list here (www.wikihow.com) You have to watch out what ringtone you put on for certain callers :D

For the mrs, who never usually calls from her cell I have www.zedge.net Bottom left hand corner, Wife Calling ringtone. I was in the bank and thought WTF - whats that noise :D

Normal ringtone is yakety_sax (mp3skull.com) - 8th one down 1.2MB ( watch out for popups :) Always gets a smile from others when it rings and you start fumbling around to get the phone out of pocket. Its amazing how loud it is in banks or other waiting places LOL. Remember once in a meeting, guy was being really serious and I thought I had put phone on vibrate only --- NOPE :o Everyone was trying not to laugh :p

BACK On subject -- If a search for what ever type of ring tone on that first site, ( you can download and set it up as your ringtone) , they are MP3's, any modern phone should be able to play them.

1369165 2014-03-03 09:00:00 There is Super Loud Ringtones and Loud Ringtones, I think you will find what you are looking for on both if you download.
There's always a download .....

1369166 2014-03-03 11:36:00 You could also record your own tone by using the voice recording app on your smartphone, or transfer one from your PC. feersumendjinn (64)
1369167 2014-03-03 18:58:00 There are apps on the play store for classic ringtones, I downloaded one with the imaginative name of "old Phone Ringtone - it has every kind of bell type ring you could imagine you just push and hold one of it's numbered buttons to get the option to set as ringtone.
It also has a lot of the classic landline rings from after the bell days.
