343386 2005-04-10 08:16:00 I asked a question here a couple of days ago and see that google has picked it up already. How so soon? It usually takes 6 weeks for google to pick up anything I have submitted to them. What's F1's secret? timezone (7848)
343387 2005-04-10 08:31:00 I'm not 100% sure (this subject was raised in another post).

I'm thinking (between you and I) that Mr Administrator (Bruce) might have Google in his back pocket for the reason of publicity.
Google came to Bruce and asked; no begged if they could add this site to their search, because they needed a site with gun people to help the rest of the people online fix their comp probs :D

But thats between you an I ok :p

343389 2005-04-10 12:09:00 It's a high traffic, always changing site.

It gets crawled more regularly than low traffic low turnover sites.

Attribute alot of the pulling power to the archives (forums.pcworld.co.nz) (most probably helped along c/o mod_rewrite).

343391 2005-04-11 04:58:00 Google have obviously added some horsepower to their scanning system. They used to update the active indexes every two weeks; now it's about two days. This might have something to do with the fact that a competitor (run by the well known OS company) has gone to two-day updates. Graham L (2)

Doesn't the well known OS company know theres no money in search engines

343393 2005-04-13 01:56:00 They've got lots of money. They want to corner the search market, then start charging. They have probably already patented the concept of entering "keywords" to a "search engine" to find matching "objects". Graham L (2)
