343332 2005-04-10 00:20:00 Have a new computer with XP which appears damn complicated to an ME user. One of the family has downloaded Winmx to their user account. How can it be made that every body on the computer can access it, surely we dont all have to download into our seperate accounts?
Theres probably something on the XP instructions in the computer but I cant find it. Any ideas?
Thanks, Clod :o

thank god you made the swap from ME to XP, you wont regret it :p
anyway back to your question.... where have you installed the program? you should install it to the program files folder. everyone should have access to it then. what type of user accounts have you made, admin or limited? :)

343334 2005-04-10 05:59:00 You will find the program has installed the shortcuts to the user who installed the program. When logged in as the user who installed the program, right click on the start button and click explore or explore all. Go to the user who installed the program and cut the links from their programs folder. Then go to the all user folder and paste the links into the program folder. This way all users will have access to the shortcuts. The only problem you may encounter is permissions but will worry about that if you get access denied. Post back if that happens.

PS: you can also find the user profiles in My Computer under Documents and settings.

343336 2005-04-10 20:06:00 There is another way other than copying to each user account copy the shortcut icon from the user who installed it to the "all user" directory in documents and settings, then all users will be able to use it.
The all user account is a hidden system directory so you will have to unhide system files and special system folders.
