| 343380 | 2005-04-11 04:01:00 | It is very easy. First take the cover off your computer. Now, most people say you need a anti-static crap to stop static elevtrcity from building up and discharging in the computer but i have never had this problem. Are ypu wanting to get ride of one the drives or have all three in the computer? If you want to get ride of one, take the CDROM drive out by undoing all the side screws, taking the IDE cable (thats the big fat cable) and the power cable out. The drive will now just slide out. Then look at the back of the CDROM drive and see the jumper (a black metal plate that will be covering two metal pins) and read the back of the drive to find out if it was Master or Slave. Then read the manual that came with the DVD drvie and it will tell you how to make that drive Master or Slave (depending on what the CDROM drive is, you want to make the DVD the same as the CDROM was). Then slide the DVD drive into the bay (or holder) and plug the IDE cable back in and the power, screw the baby in and start the computer up ... Easy as at :D | ProMaz (34) | ||

Actually, Make that I think the Liteon drive comes with foldout installation instructions, I never unfolded mine. And clever people recommend the use of anti-static precautions, Though you should be safe just swapping out a cd-drive...... |

| 343382 | 2005-04-11 04:24:00 | I am with Chill, I have had one for 4-5 months and it hasn't found any cdr media it doesn't like yet. I'm really happy with it and have given it a bit of a hiding, as you do with new toys. :) Optorite comes with Nero suite. |

The only one that hasn't failed in some way will only burn at 2.4, But thats in my brothers comp,and I had to pay for half the gear in it anyhow so he has to live with it. |
