343444 2005-04-10 10:46:00 Friend with MeFee product. I have never used it and going by this experience never will. Ever time a user goes to use internet they have to login to McFee with Windows password. I have found and disabled the option but after restart comes back. Any idea how to stop this before I uninstall McFee. It is driving my friend mad. berryb (99)

343447 2005-04-10 21:23:00 Did the Mcafee Firewall install have an option for all users / or just one person / Me?? When u / he installed it?

If so, whoever installed the firewall, did they select all users, when they installed it?? Not just one person ? Me (The main user / Admin)?

I've never heard of any firewall asking for a windows login, tho this could be the reason why.

343448 2005-04-11 01:16:00 It is a new Dell and they purchased the Mcafee software as part of the package and came installed. I may just uninstall it and reinstall and see what happens.

What it does is opens a Mcafee window the first time the user goes to the net with the user name already in the correct field and have to put in the users windows password. There is no option to remember password and I have looked through the settings and found the option to disable. Using the administrator password to disable the option works fine until the PC is restarted and back to square one again.

343449 2005-04-11 01:25:00 I would contact Mcafee themselves by email, and see if they can help you out.

By the looks of it, not many people on this forum use this firewall.
