343229 2005-04-09 11:39:00 I'm trying to setup SlingShot JetBuster, but when I type the string of numbers to connect to my router, the outgoing and incomming statistic is blank. I went to troubleshoot and it said ADSL syncronisation failed.

I looked in the manual and it said if "status" LED is blinking, its trying to connect and when its just lit, its connected. My light was blinking.

I read the troubleshoot further, and it said to check for 4 metal connections tabs on the phone wire connecting from the router to the filter, I checked, there was only 2. I thought that was the problem, but when I looked at the modem jack on the filter, there was also only 2 connection tabs.

BTW, I tried to connect with the same router at 2 houses.

You're not supposed to have a filter o9n a router.

I don't know bout that . But the Jetbuster connection is registered to the other house (but still does'nt work) . But I followed a link to xtra from SlingSHot web site to check if my phone line is able to have ADSL; it said yes .

Can you ping the router?
Dunno how, but my computer is able to connect to router . But the router isn't getting a connection with the phone line or something .

343234 2005-04-10 04:16:00 Your computer should be able to connect with the router ... that's got nothing to do with ADSL or telephone lines.

The fact that your line is "able to have ADSL" doesn't mean that it has ADSL. That costs money.;)

This might explain why it doesn't work. ;)

If you have an "ADSL filter" plugged into a phone line socket, and the ADSL box is plugged into the only socket (probably marked "phone") on the filter, it won't work. Ifyou have an "ADSL splitter" plugged into a phone socket, it should have two outputs, one marked "ADSL". That's the one the ADSL box must be plugged into. If you have a Telecom-installed splitter, there should be one socket marked ADSL. But it won't give ADSL unless the exchange is set up to send ADSL on that line.

343235 2005-04-10 04:20:00 I followed a link to xtra from SlingSHot web site to check if my phone line is able to have ADSL; it said yes.................................you might very well be ALBE to use adsl BUT.........if telecom havent done their thing at the exchange and ENabled jetstream on YOUR house then it simply isn't there..........and UNPLUG your router from that filter you DONT filter the jetstream signal or you wont get one ! drcspy (146)
343236 2005-04-10 06:24:00 Right, so all I need to do is get telecome guys to do their thing and get ADSL on my phone line? Would that cost anything, cause JetBuster isn't part of telecome?

And whaa drcspy??? I don't need a filter? And whaa Graham, are splitter and filter the same thing?

You might want to check with Slingshot first, they may already have requested ADSL to be enabled on your phone line, depends on what was requested when you signed up to it.

343238 2005-04-10 07:44:00 lol, it doesnt sound like slingshot have given you much information at all!

you would usually get a call from a telcom tech to let you know that service has been switched on, and it can take a few days from when u first order it for that to happen

filters and splitters are usually the same thing... if u have only one or two phones then you get a filter device for each jackpoint.. on the jackpoint which has the modem you need a filter which has a port for the phone and a port for the modem,, on the other jackpoints u need a filter which has a single port for the phones and faxes...

if u have more than five jacks then u need to get flasher and get a splitter
