343926 2005-04-11 23:54:00 Hi, first post, whoo :)

I'm on a Optima Centoris laptop right now, (main computer) and the cursor is continually moving around the screen, like just jumping around. This makes writing near impossible without holding down the page down key. Someone told me this is because of a cache problem, but I clear my cache every day, and it doesnt fix anything. I'm 99% sure its not a virus, because every week I run my virus software, Adaware and Norton Antivirus. Can someone please help me?

343927 2005-04-12 00:27:00 Check the settings for the touchpad thingy.
If that doesn't help, you might have to disable the integrated mouse altogether and use an external mouse.

343930 2005-04-12 03:13:00 Heh, tried that already. Its got nothing to do with the mouse, its something on the computer. Oh well Dougie (7869)
343931 2005-04-12 06:44:00 So if you disconnect your cordless and use the touchpad you still get the cursor jumping around? pctek (84)
343932 2005-04-12 06:57:00 Yeah, I even tried changing mice to an old Logitech corded, but still same problem. So I know the problem isnt with my hardware. Dougie (7869)
343933 2005-04-12 07:39:00 There are 2 (or 3) things that control the cursor.

The mouse
The touchpad
The "G-Spot" if fitted (the stub controller beside the G key)
You have probably eliminated the mouse, and I don't *think* your laptop has a G Spot controller (but we have no idea of the model, so cannot be 100% sure)

Therefore a hardware problem with the touchpad could easily cause this problem. Look in the BIOS to see if you can disable it.

I dont have one of the G spot things, but I have no idea what to do with a BIOS ? I don't even know what that is, Basic I O System? Anyway, if you could tell me how to fix that it would be great :)
