2005-04-14 12:17:00 | "The player itself is covered in advertising, it constrantly talks back to the manufacturer, and when you close the program a splashscreen apears telling you to get out the credit card and send over some moolaa to unlock all the rest of its fantastic features. The reason people have complained to me and asked (infact paid me money) to remove just proves that its not everyones cup of tea,of the instances I have seen it routinly takes ownership of media files on launch so teh next time you click a media file the program fires up, Not apreciated by people who don't like the app and dont want to use it, espcially if they don't know how to reasign exetensions." What a lot of rubbish.. I have NEVER seen any of those things after using MMJB for several years. Sorry Metla, my friend, but ya gotta it wrong.

2005-04-14 12:22:00 | Of course. And Winston who seconded it just imagined it, and my customers are obviosly delusional. I'll keep what you said in mind the next time someone makes a point of asking for its removal....and then send them down to the Department of Silly Walks.

2005-04-14 12:34:00 | The first (and last) time I encountered Musicmatch, I'm glad it was on someone elses computer. My main gripe was with the interface, yuck. I also hated how it popped up all over the place. I hate programs that plant themselves everywhere. | sal (67) | |
2005-04-14 12:34:00 | It should also be noted that there are many versions of every app out there, and it may even be an oem version that is bundled with some brand name computers. At the end of the day it matters little, My personal experience with Media players is that I have never come across one that satisfied me, they all play the same games when it comes to file associations. And Im most certainly not prepared to argue the case for or against any particuler package. I don't use playlists, ripping, burning or any of the other featues they all brag about, visulisations are a gimmick, I have my media all softed in folders to my preference and select and play them from within Windows (which is why its a pain in the ass when some program takes over the file asociations and springs into life against the users wishes)

2005-04-16 09:34:00 | Good point plod, as Bruce confirms. Yes I have had the paid Plus version of MMJB for many years. I suppose thats why I dont have the problems as listed here. And so my apologies to Metla & others who have experienced MMJB problems, with the free version. I'm sorry to have questioned your experience with this program. | Bazza (407) | |
