343623 2005-04-11 20:33:00 Ah that hdd MUST have jumpers .

It says Jumper on the top of the hard drive when u posted that pic . (Where it says device 0, device 1, cable select . Those are the settings for the jumper/s .

At the bottom of the hdd (the black long bit by the capacitors on the bottom) . thats where the jumper/s are to change the jumper to master/slave

The jumper is in the same place where the power supply plugs into, on a normal IDE hdd . (the power supply is on the right, the jumpers next to it, or on the left hand side) .

Post another pic so we can see what connections are on the back of that targa enclosure (if it has any) .

Hmmm, Just did a google search . The only thing I can find is a Targa HD-25U which is for 98 SE and is 2 . 5 inch?

Here . targahk . com/drivers . html" target="_blank">www . targahk . com and there's drivers .

So, it MUST take drivers . And its the only HD product on this site,

The heading on this site says TARGA USB2 . 0 2 . 5-inch HDD Portable Storage

343624 2005-04-11 21:04:00 I ran out ot tries to add to the previous post .

Download the drivers,

. targahk . com/drivers/HD_HD25U_Win98 . zip" target="_blank">www . targahk . com

And there's a setup . exe in the zip file . Run it . You may have to reboot .

I bet the hdd will work then .

343626 2005-04-12 02:57:00 BUT did u install the same driver I posted?? Or did windows 98 SE install it??

I would try it anyway, if 98 SE installed the driver u have now, it maybe missing something.

343627 2005-04-12 04:07:00 It was the same driver.IT wasn't actually a driver. It was just a storage adaptor for letting you use external devices.
I double click the setup.exe and it says driver already installed

343628 2005-04-12 17:09:00 Here's the harddrive pins

sal.neoburn.net

is this where the jumper suppose to be?

343629 2005-04-12 23:16:00 This is what it looks like

. neoburn . net/imagef1/files/Picture_001 . jpg" target="_blank">sal . neoburn . net

The one with the black dot under it . To the left is the IDE connection . To the right the power supply .

Its usually a set of 8-9 pins . . . . with a black, or blue cover/jumper on 2 of them .

This might be a better view
