344071 2005-04-14 01:43:00 Musicmatch Jukebox is the best damn music playing and music library software produced ever.
I love it and would never consider using anything else!

344073 2005-04-14 05:16:00 I USED to use MMJB as my default mp3 player but the friggin thing crashed when used with Win2k and the amount of space it took when it installed was one the other reasons I dumped it in favour of Quintessential Player.

I'm a minimalist person and wanted a minimalist player

344075 2005-04-14 11:03:00 Sadly, this has turned to be a flame post. MMJB v others. Although I agree with ChemicalAli, I woundn't be that dogmatic..After many years of using MMJB, I am very content with it. I dont have any problems like Metla said.

To be fair, I just tried Quintessential, as advised. Seems very good. But will it record ? Yes it will rip from CD's, but will it record from any other sources? MMJB sure will, from any sources, line in, mic, and others.

Dont want to cause any more flame here, but after several years of using MMJB, satisfactorily, I'll stay with it.

344076 2005-04-14 11:05:00 Flames?

there are no flames here, just opinions on media players, Seems like a healthy discussion to me.

344077 2005-04-14 11:30:00 True Metla, you are correct, but you did say:

in that case prepare for advertisng, nag screens, and a program with a bizarre layout.

Near everyone I know whose managed to get it on their harddrive couldn't get rid of it fast enough, especiallly those that couldn't understand how it repeatedly stole the media files and kept on leaping into life when they hated it,and never wanted to use it....

What I was saying, that aftersome years of using MMJB, I have never experienced any of those things you say. i.e.
no nag screens.
no bazarre layout
no stolen media files.
no leaping into life.
It justs works fine, playing or recording.

Sure it takes some understanding, with the many options. I wonder If those who have rubbished it really tried to understand or realise it's options.

344078 2005-04-14 11:54:00 The reason people have complained to me and asked (infact paid me money) to remove just proves that its not everyones cup of tea,of the instances I have seen it routinly takes ownership of media files on launch so teh next time you click a media file the program fires up, Not apreciated by people who don't like the app and dont want to use it, espcially if they don't know how to reasign exetensions .

The player itself is covered in advertising, it constrantly talks back to the manufacturer, and when you close the program a splashscreen apears telling you to get out the credit card and send over some moolaa to unlock all the rest of its fantastic features .

Thats not to say its not perfect for your requirments, everyone has their own personal perfences, . . . . which is why i have refrained from telling anyone what media player they should be using . . . . Use what ever floats ya boat, but on the same token there is no need to take critism of your favourite app as a personal insult .

Thats just gettin silly .
