343630 2005-04-11 04:35:00 I have a Asus A7V333 mother board which supports AGP PROx4. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a Leadtek A350 FX 5900 Ultra which is AGP X8. Are they compatible? Cheers Phil. Marshman (7857)
343631 2005-04-11 04:37:00 It might be compatible but it will only run at 4x not 8x.

If the BIOS shows the mobo only supports 4x AGP.

Altho I think AGP and AGP pro are different arent they??

343632 2005-04-11 04:50:00 I can undersatnd why you might be a little hesitant, but after reading the manual, it seems you shouldn't have any trouble. It states that the card requires, at minimum, a Pentium II Processor to work properly, which is a generation or two behind AGP 4X. It will work fine, albeit a little slower than AGP 8X. Jemy_X (2081)

The most important thing with AGP slots used to be whether the voltages were correct but that was an issue ages ago.
