344359 2005-04-13 06:30:00 I dont know how, but the Hotsearch web page has taken over my computer, and sets their page as my home page. I have done a lot of research on this and cant seem to get rid of it. I have windows 98 if that will help you any. Do you know what I need to do to get rid of hotsearch? grady (7879)
344360 2005-04-13 06:36:00 Get adaware www.lavasoft.com or spybot http:

Also check add/remove programs. See if Hotsearch shows here, if it is uninstall it.

344362 2005-04-13 07:01:00 1. Start Command Prompt in the Accessories menu of your Start Menu.
2. Type in: (c:/windows/system32/regsvr32.exe /u winhot32.dll) EXACTLY as it's seen inside the parenthesis
3. You should get a system message saying that winhot32.dll has been unregistered
Open IE and reset your homepage.

344363 2005-04-13 19:38:00 safari,

I tried typing this into the command prompt, and all it did after I pressed enter was go back down to the next line that says C:WINDOWS>

I even copied and paste what you said to put in there after the C:WINDOWS> as well as tried it without the c:windows part of the insert b/c it is already listed automatically. Am I still doing something wrong here? I never received a message saying that it was deleted!

344364 2005-04-13 19:58:00 Try boot up your computer under safe mode and give your computer a thorough scan. Cheers :) Renmoo (66)

Thers are many variants and you may need to adjust slightly what you type in.

Try the following, one should work.
Note the spaces

1.Open command prompt in accessories.
Type c:/windows/system32/regsvr32.exe /u hsrb.dll

Or
c:/windows/system32/hsrb.dll

An alert will tell you hsrb.dll has been unregistered.
