345370 2005-04-15 13:17:00 I am after a good website about networking xp on a wired and wireless network. I have the basic network up and running both pc and laptops are connected to the internet via router (laptops wireless) I need to know how to configure the laptops to print to the desktop i have enabled print sharing on the desktop:

p.s I had to deal with DSE today to return equipment for a relative who was sold the wrong stuff on there advice. It seems the staff there are not very clued up about things it took a lot of slow talking to get things through to them, so you could imagine what its like to deal with them if you are Joe public

345371 2005-04-15 13:45:00 wown (http://www.wown.com/) has good info.

I think you expect to much from DSE retail staff. There is a load of stuff to know about computer tech and experience with the actual equipment helps a great deal.

345372 2005-04-15 14:01:00 relative went in and brought a laptop told staff she had a desktop to share internet connection with so dse sold her a wifi card for her laptop and wifi bridge
first problem laptop had built in wifi so need for card!
second bridge only had lan into it so no way of hooking up her desktop so had to swap for a wifi router which she should have been sold in the first place.Yes you cant expect them to know all there products but they could at least read the box the thing is packed into.Relative knows nothing about wifi so went back in to dse with her saw same salesmab and after speaking to him for 30 seconds came to the conclusion he new about as much as my relative

345373 2005-04-15 14:35:00 Hi Plod,

You might like to check out DIY Home Network (www.homenethelp.com) as well. It would appear to be more graphical in it's orientation than the link Gibler has given you. Gibler's link seems to be rather good though :)
