344812 2005-04-14 22:33:00 Take the 03 out of the area code if its there and just put in 087303030?? I think thats Xtra's dialup. Speedy Gonzales (78)
344813 2005-04-15 00:23:00 087 Area code
303030 Phone number
Rob99 (151)
344814 2005-04-15 00:31:00 You can put the whole number under phone number

And leave area code blank. I'm on Ihug and just put the whole number in phone number. Works fine.

Did as Rob suggested and low and behold she had a connection.
Downloaded updates of all adware, virus stuff, never seen so many nasties.

She doesn't have SP2,was thinking of putting that on,what do you think?

Also Firefox as she is not good at keeping things up to date.

344816 2005-04-15 02:33:00 Scan / remove spyware FIRST before u install SP2. Or it will go round in circles. Speedy Gonzales (78)

Check the Motherboard & Processor support SP2 before you install it.
Some boards require a BIOS update especially if they are running certain Celeron 'D' CPU's before SP2 is installed
Some older just flat out don't support it at all
Check manufacturers site first
Also HP/Dell etc have released patches for some Models
If you don't and SP2 isn't supported, the whole thing turns to custard

I suspect it will have the requisite facility to accept SP2.
The unit in question is a top of the line PC Computer jobbie, bit difficult to get in touch with them, unless we have a seance

Top of the line PC Computer jobbie???
They never made one

It doesn't matter how new the machine is
I've just repaired a corrupt SP2 install yesterday on a machine 8mths old
The board didn't support the Celeren/SP2 Combo
That's 3 this month
I could build you a brand spanker today with a board I bought a year ago that won't take SP2 and you wouldn't know the diff.
