344794 2005-04-14 08:26:00 Arrghhhhh,

Win98
Ie6 Sp1

The boss's computer will not allow me to open in a new window. The new window opens, but it just sits there and does nothing.

I have followed the advise at microsoft link (support.microsoft.com) , but it has not resolved the problem.

I have re-installed ie6, but still not luck.

Has anyone got any ideas as to how to go about possibly resolving this error.

I am going home now.

Did you do every single one of those suggestions??
Do you need to use IE or will another browser do - cause I'd recommend Mozilla or Firefox.

344796 2005-04-14 09:51:00 Yes I did every suggestion.

My preference is firefox, however the boss will want a answer as to why I can't fix it! :badpc:

The only step I had a problem with was the regsrv32 shell32.dll. On visiting other sites with information, it appears that this stage is only relevant for PC's running Win XP.

344797 2005-04-14 09:59:00 Try this.

Go to my computer, view/folder options/file types (or control panel, folder options depending on your operating system.

Scroll down to the* URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocols, click edit twice and make sure the following is in the application used to perform action box:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
Safari (3993)

344799 2005-04-14 22:51:00 Nothing has worked.

Have got him to use firefox at this stage.

WIll probably have to reformat and reload from scratch.

Thanks for the suggestions though
