346120 2005-04-17 14:35:00 Hi,
My IBM T40 Laptop, when I plug a USB v2 device (Maxtor OneTouch) into a port, report that the device could only run at a reduced speed. But previously, this device runs fine at high speed (v2). Now, its run at a v1.1 speed.
I try to re-install the host controller drivers, but it doesn't work.
My computer is XP SP2, T40 laptop, with latest BIO drivers, Intel 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 enhanced host controller. The USB device, plug into either of the laptop's 2 ports could run at high-speed. Other devices, mouse eg run fine.
Cheers

346123 2005-04-17 21:34:00 Have you re-installed windows since the usb devices last ran at Usb2 speed?
if so, you may need the usb2 patch for windows xp.

346124 2005-04-17 21:42:00 SP2 should install files for USB2 .

Only thing I can think of is USB2 (is it on the right option in the BIOS)???

Whats it on Fullspeed or Highspeed .

Altho, if u have reformatted this laptop recently, it may need the ide inf files, for USB 2 to work properly .

346125 2005-04-18 06:52:00 Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply. But I haven't re-installed windows since the USB device last ran and to answer 'Speedy Gonzales' question, the BIOS doesn't list what option USB should run.
