| 346047 | 2005-04-17 13:08:00 | Hi Iam currently with ihug they have supplied there free usb modem which works good but i have noticed that when iam doing other work such as word processing or playing games the download speed goes down but when PC is left alone the speed is at its best ( 32,33 kb/s) one might say this probably happens bcoz its a usb modem but when i was with woosh before the speed never went less than 31kb/s even though i had a wireless modem which was via USB(the speed stayed same even if Pc performed other activities) .now this is obviously not ISP problem its either the modem or drivers. The nzdsl.co.nz/speed test gave me similar results for both ISPs Anyone here got any suggestions |

| 346050 | 2005-04-17 23:28:00 | most likly your pc is a little underpowered to run a software modem. i would use an ethernet external modem if at all possible. are you running a firewall? is their anything unusuall trying to connect out? |
