| 345976 | 2005-04-17 11:23:00 | I have being trying to use this program: www.mabuse.de but it seems to have some problems, sometimes multiple pages sometimes pages missing sometimes works perfectly. Instead of the above I have tried to use Print to File option from a standard Print Window but I cannot open the resulting files, does anyone know what I should be doing? I am using Win2KPro and I don't get any options for what type of file to save or where to save it. If I Print to File in FireFox it saves a file in ProgramFiles/Mozilla/Firefox but I can't find any program to open it. What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated. |

E.g. if you had a postscript printer selected then print to file produces Postscript. if you have a Generic/text only printer you get plain text If you want something like a PDF output use cutepdf (http://www.cutepdf.com/). It is pretty reliable with the only con being that you may end up with large documents (in terms of file size) from time to time. |

This isn't really "openable" by any programme; it's what the printer expects. (Notepad might show the contents, but you won't like what it looks like. ;) ) If your printer is on LPT1, the "DOS" command to print the fille is copy /b thefile.prn LPT1:. I don't know how you do it if it's a USB printer. |
