| 345936 | 2005-04-17 07:02:00 | Hi I have just bought an ALTEC LANSING 251 (5.1) speaker system. I am using onboard sound - ASUS P5GD1Pro motherboard - capable of up to 7.1 they tell me...."high definition" the man told me........ Some initial problems getting the sound system to power up. Goes now. BUT:- I am only getting sound from the sub and the L front and R front speakers - no centre or rears.....using Far Cry as a test game - audio set to "Dolby 5.1" -no joy - audio set to "surround" - no joy either....have followed the motherboard instructions re connecting - no joy... Any ideas please???? |

I had to power up the puter without the sound plugs plugged in. As I plugged them in one at a time I could assign their functions. Prob solved.......did the test - it really does work. Not bad for $99. (and a bit of strife!) |
