| 345892 | 2005-04-17 05:00:00 | I was wondering if anyone could advise whether the following would work. Plugging a PCIe video card that is SLI into just a standard motherboard with PCIe slot. I expect not to be able to joint two video cards, but basically want to know if a SLI video card will work in this setting ie will it work if it is not seated in a SLI equiped motherbaord? The two components are: 1) Microstar K8N Neo4-F, Socket 939, NVIDIA nForce4, 4xDIMM, DDR, 1xPCIe-16, 1xPCIe-4, 1xPCIe-1, 4xPCI, 10xUSB 2, Audio, ATA, SATA, ATX 2) Sparkle SP-PX43GPT Video Card, 256MB DDR3, GeForce 6600 GT, PCIe-16, VIVO, DVI Cheers |

| 345893 | 2005-04-17 06:38:00 | Being SLI capable just means it can be used with another in a SLI motherboard. Not that it HAS to be. It will be fine as a single card in your PCI-E board. | pctek (84) | ||
| 345894 | 2005-04-17 07:26:00 | Thats a good thing to hear because the only reason I am opting for the sli version of the card is because it has 256mb instead of 128mb and I think this will make a difference interms of future proofing the computer and also because I play Trainz2004 which renders big envronments graphically. | shomenno (7767) | ||
