| 345699 | 2005-04-16 09:21:00 | Hi All. I recently E-mailed a document on a Word page. Right click on the MyDocuments Index, File name *****FT, a genealogy Tree, Send to, then Mail recipient. It went ok, but the recipient cannot open it to work on the document. She can read it Ok. How can she do that. Thanks. PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||
| 345700 | 2005-04-16 09:49:00 | mmm... Poppa John was the file a .doc or a gedcom file? if it was a word file it's properties may be set as read only. If a gedcom file the user would have to have a gedcom reader or import it into a genealogy programme. |

| 345702 | 2005-04-16 10:16:00 | poppa john try the other suggestion that the file may be read only You can alter that in the properties, that is right click (with your mouse) the file and check that the properties are not set to read only  |

| 345703 | 2005-04-16 22:37:00 | PJ, what program is the recipient using to open the email though? Not everyone has Word, it's not free. If the recipient is using the free Word Viewer, then they will only be able to view and not edit. In that case, there is nothing you can do, the problem is entirely theirs. |
