| 345935 | 2005-04-21 01:14:00 | Thanks speedy, The problem is that the computer was set up for an open network (no encryption) originally and then I changed the Ethernet card in the Pc running Win98se to a wireless one so I could shift the computer away from the router. Now when I try to add encryption I find that the wireless ethernet card doesn't have an ethernet port on it so I guess the only way to change the settings on this comp is to change back to the wired ethernet card, make the settings alterations and then change the ethernet card back to the wireless one. Because of the imminent arrival of mrs theother1's new notebook I am reluctant to spend the time doing it. I was trying to do it wirelessly, which hasn't worked. Thanks for your input. It is appreciated. Rob |
