| 346574 | 2005-04-19 03:16:00 | I would go for an ASUS, or Gigabyte (altho, Ive never had a Gigabyte). Well the mobo maybe cheap the CPU may not be. Depends how much u wanna spend for both. And whether ur in NZ or somewhere else. |

Has good specs, supports PCI-Express and is loaded with onboard features, I particualrly like the 4 SATA ports/connections. Only problem is I haven't been able to find a NZ supplier that can source it. cheers chiefnz |

| 346577 | 2005-04-19 10:02:00 | The reason no one you have talked to can supply it is because Asus gear all comes through the same channel,if the importer doesn't being it in then suppliers and resllers can't do squat (and I won't even question the logic behind recomending a board you know isn't even available in NZ) as to the comment that it doesn't matter what board, The logic behind that is just as worthless,chipsets are not all equal,configurations are not all equal,components are not all equal. Some boards are dogs,some are middle of the road,some have steller performance,some are unstable,some oc to the moon,some have extensive extra features....etc etc.Some are overpriced,unstable and slow (usually the boards on the bleeding edge) As for a particuler board,it depends on budget and required features,when you can name em then we can follow it up with some info. |

| 346581 | 2005-04-19 21:25:00 | Don't ASUS do Asrock mobos anyway?? A firewire card would cost u less than $40. Only thing with Asrock is they have mostly onboard stuff by the looks of it are cheaper, and smaller due to most things being onboard. And take less memory. And have less slots. |
